Assassin's Creed III follows a new assassin and jumps all the way to the American Revolution. Tie the modern gameplay to the historical, using similar elements. What followed was a massive disaster that left only human beings standing, beginning the millennia-long struggle of building a new world from the rubble. Assassin’s Creed: Revelations is the final game in the Ezio trilogy and sees Ezio’s story merge with Altair’s. And as the Templars turned their mission to using said objects to gently (or not so gently) direct global politics, or World Wars for their own ends, the Assassins tried to keep pace. Not much is actually known about the war in the millennia that followed, but once human history started to be recorded, the fingerprints of the Assassin-Templar War were all over it. Upon seeing all this, Desmond meets another Precursor named Jupiter who explains that his race was wiped out by a solar flare. You might just think Layla Hassan, 33 year old rebel Abstergo employee, is a small part of Assassin’s Creed Origins but she single handedly revolutionises the much maligned modern day element. At the end of his journey, Connor discovers an amulet which is the key Desmond needs to open the vault. The series should also look to other Ubisoft franchises for inspiration, using ideas from Watch Dogs, Splinter Cell, Ghost Recon, and more. Allowing the user to access the genetic memories of their Assassin or Templar ancestors, Abstergo had the means to acquire even more power. These events lead into Assassin’s Creed: Unity which follows a young Assassin named Arno during the French Revolution in Paris. Since then it's been a mashup of ideas, tacked on story, and even some instances where the modern story wasn't even featured. The most recent games, Origins and Odyssey, features small playable segments with a new character named Layla Hassan. The question remains who the new subject could be, or if the donors in the future will all be based on the remains of modern day assassins like Black Flag hinted at. We then travel to the Golden Age of Piracy where we follow Edward Kenway (father of Haytham, grandfather of Connor) as he works as a pirate/assassin. Desmond sees through Ezio where the Piece of Eden can be found in the present day but Desmond then meets another Precursor named Juno who reveals to him that Lucy is actually a Templar spy and forces him to kill her. Assassin’s Creed II picks up where the first game left off and sees Desmond and Lucy break out of Abstergo. Arguably, the modern day story wasn't always this way and was genuinely interesting for a while. It's not like Ubisoft doesn't have experience with modern stealth gameplay; just look at the likes of Splinter Cell and Watch Dogs. When the rising up of humanity against their divine masters was said and done, and the remains of the 'First Civilization' on their way to extinction, the survivors had a choice to make. It's been a long time coming, but the video game movie world finally has a film crafted under the leadership of the creators who conceived of the premise in the first place. The modern aera story doesn't even end with a cutscene or anything you are still in a cave with this old british assasin and nothing happens no explanation just a massive cliffhanger ? Desmond and his crew are rumbled when the Templars discover their location and they make a quick getaway. In Assassin's Creed 4 and Rogue awkward gameplay had players exploring the Abstergo office, digging through emails, hacking into accounts, and searching for info. While those people would go on to become the Assassins, their opponents would eventually take up the title of Templars, and begin a covert war with their former brothers and sisters that would last thousands of years. Unity then sees Arno fight as an Assassin whilst struggling with his relationship with his Templar girlfriend Elise as he finds the Sage has plotted the revolution to destroy the monarchy of France. By reciting the creed, they don't remember the code or beliefs they're following, but remind themselves that they only remain free themselves by refusing such bonds.
