There were so many food options and all of them were good. Everything was excellent and our guests gave so many compliments. Whitney's will always hold a special place in our hearts! Our wedding was on November 26, 2016. Brides can feel a lot of stress and concern for their day. There isn't one thing we would change having our wedding at Whitney's Inn. t different locations on the property! tay close to home (we live about 40 miles north of Boston) but found that every venue we went to was lacking in something.... atmosphere... amenities... food... the price tag... we searched everywhere... and we almost put a deposit down on a place near home just to be done with the search - as it gets so exhausting. The reception dinner will delight your guests. It was a perfect wedding experience, and we'd recommend it to any couple. The Inn provides you with a list of vendors they have used and recommend which was extremely helpful in selecting those people as we were not from the area. Located at the base of Black Mountain Ski Resort and in the picturesque setting of Jackson, NH, your guests will love the Adirondack style guestrooms of Whitney's Inn and the rustic barn setting of the Shovel Handle Pub. If I could do it all over again, I would not change a thing! The... Whitneys Inn was absolutely amazing! He worked with us from the beginning like Don. CONS: Don was hard to get ahold of a lot of the time. But enough bragging. Thank you so incredibly much. We had a great time... My husband and I got married at Whitney's Inn June 2017. The food was amazing! They were SO flexible and helpful with every single aspect of our big day, I wouldn't have changed a thing and I wish I could relive the weekend over and over. We can honestly say Don made the weekend a dream come true. I am so glad we picked Whitney's Inn for our wedding and would recommend it to anyone looking for a rustic feel for their wedding day. We look forward to visiting Whitney’s Inn again and again over the years. Because we held our wedding in April during the Inn's off-season (which saved us a decent amount of money- thanks Don for the Spring Wedding Sale!
This thanks to our wedding coordinator Lori (which the Whitney provides) we were able to plan the wedding from afar (the Boston area) which meant we did not have to physically be there for major decisions. Not only is the venue amazing, there are multiple options for the ceremony site, the food is outstanding and pricing is very reasonable. We were able to get married at 4 and stay at the reception until midnight and then have a fire behind one of the cabins afterwards. The entire weekend was amazing. From the activities on that Friday night which included long hours around the fire pit, to the delicious and unbelievable breakfast which was included in the stay, we were amazed. Probably one of the best meals I have ever had! Lowest prices for your stay. Family-friendly live entertainment is offered most weekends.
I had imagined my groomsmen running around like chickens with their heads cut off trying to get all of the decorations and signs in place, but Don had the staff take care of everything.
They took great care of our vegan and gluten-free guests as well. Sarah and Paul Higgins.
They were incredibly flexible and knowledgeable – we always felt like we were in good hands. Their grounds are beautiful and well maintained. People are still commenting on how delicious it was.
Also the eggplant parmesan!!! Wireless Internet is currently available in the main inn. Inn at Jackson 603.383.4321. They have 3 outdoor sites for the ceremony, we picked one that was just finished this year; I walked down the aisle through a row of trees and we were married in front of an old fireplace.
2. I am not sure why you would chose to get married anywhere else. The food was the biggest hit of the night, all we can say is our guests are still talking about how delicious the food was and how it was the best wedding they have been to!!! We loved the Inn, the Shovel Handle Pub, and the beautiful ceremony sites (we chose the one that is set in the woods by the brook). We were able to choose our timeline, there was no rental hours or limits. Of all the times we have traveled to the White... We picked Whitney’s because of its beautiful NH mountain location but what we ended up with on our wedding weekend was so much more.
Beyond that, the food was exceptional, the staff were extremely professional and accomodating, and after the reception ended (at midnight! They did everything within their power to make sure that our wedding day turned out exactly the way we had envisioned it to be.
Like most weddings we had a wide spectrum of personalities, and the team helped us ensure that everyone had fun without getting into any trouble. The fire pit is a wonderful amenity. I honestly cannot say enough about how nice everything was and how well organized they were. Highly recommend! The weekend went so smoothly, everyone enjoyed themselves, and our guests can’t stop raving about the absolutely delicious food! Don (the owner) and his staff have everything perfected. What is the starting site fee for wedding receptions during off-peak season? Lori is the wedding planner up until 2 weeks before the wedding but she works remotely so you will never meet her and she isn't there the day of the wedding. And the FOOD! Jackson is a perfectly quaint New England town, and Whitney's Inn does everything possible to accentuate Jackson's natural magic. Picking this venue was the best decision I could have made. We would absolutely recommend having your wedding here, you won't regret it!!! Whitney's Inn has offered world-class lodging with New England charm since the 1930s. From the tasty food, atmosphere at the Shovel Handel pub, and surrounding activities to do in Jackson and the white mountains, it was the ideal location for our wedding! The Inn and adjoining Pub are quaint in décor and provide comfortable accommodations. I can honestly say from the moment we arrived to the minute we left we felt like part of the Whitneys Inn family.
The entire staff at Whitney's Inn is nothing short of spectacular- not only are they great at what they do, but they are kind and friendly and willing to go out of their way to make it happen! We had booked the required rooms for the 2 nights which meant our family and friends would be in for a fun filled weekend. The majority of our guest came for two nights, whitneys hosted our rehearsal dinner at the picnic area. It was such an intimate and perfect venue. Whit... Don't search any further for your wedding venue... this is the perfect and I mean PERFECT wedding venue. They were very easy to work with, responsive and had an answer for everything. He was not the friendliest person to work with. It was rustic & elegant. There isn't a single bad thing I could say about Don and his entire crew at Whitney's. We cannot express the happiness and content we had driving away that Sunday and feeling a tad bit of disappointment that we were ending one amazing weekend!
